Hey, I’m Tamara - a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) offering professional breastfeeding support and newborn sleep guidance to families.

My career began in 2010 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).  Supporting women, parents, and newborns quickly became my passion and inspired me to further my education.  In 2019, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from St. Francis Xavier University and became licensed as a Registered Nurse.  This allowed me the incredible privilege of supporting birthing parents through labour, delivery, postpartum, and beyond.

Bringing a baby into the world and becoming a parent is a massive transition, filled with intense emotion. In addition to the excitement, many parents experience worry and stress as they settle into their new roles. Whether you are having your first baby or are growing your existing family, every baby is unique and you may have questions along the way.  That’s where I come in!

I created Sweet Pea Lactation Consulting to provide compassionate, evidence-based infant feeding and sleep support that meets your unique needs as a family.  Offering home visits within the Annapolis Valley, and virtual consults across Nova Scotia, you have options to access care where and when you need it. With specialized training in perinatal mental health, low milk supply, and newborn sleep, I bring a trauma-informed, non-judgemental approach to every consultation.  My mission is to honour your parenting goals, respect your choices, and help you feel empowered along the way!
